jack ultime

This capsule collection marks the meeting of Boucheron's Jack line and Cofalit, a material derived from the recycling of industrial waste. This waste is usually buried, but it can also be vitrified and rendered inert, in which case it is known as Cofalit. Used for highway embankments, it has no other use to date, to the point of being described as a "final material."

5 unique pieces in Cofalit bear witness to Claire Choisne's vision: to redefine what is seen as precious. Raw and an intense black color, this "final material" is now taking over the world of jewelry, conveying a powerful message: valuing what is, in essence, no longer useful. And making it precious.

With the Jack Ultimecapsule, Claire Choisne continues her reflection on the meaning of precious by introducing a material that more than ever defies the conventions established by the High Jewelry industry.

"Cofalit is the antithesis of what might be considered precious in the collective imagination. I appreciate the radicality and aesthetic appearance of this recycled industrial byproduct, which has reached the end of its life cycle. I took inspiration from the fact that this material is deemed to have no further utility. I wanted to restore its value forever through this capsule collection."

Claire Choisne, Creative Director

cofalit, a "final material"

Derived from the recycling of industrial waste through a unique vitrification process, Cofalit is the most recycled product available, to the point of being described as a "final material." Rough and an intense black color, this recycled industrial waste was previously used for highway embankments.

This tension between extreme preciousness and Cofalit reflects the very essence of the Maison Boucheron: to push back the limits of innovation and draw on the technical advances of its time to imagine jewels that combine meaning and creativity.

Through this Jack Ultimecapsule, the Maison reaffirms its commitment to sustainable development, which is also reflected in its first impact report, "Precious For The Future".
