Every Maison has a mascot. At Boucheron, the mascot has a name: Wladimir the cat!
Boucheron poster from 1981
According to the Maison's archives, Wladimir the cat has been featured in Boucheron creations since the end of the 19th century, in the form of brooches and art pieces. But it was in 1978 that he truly made his mark, appearing in an advertising campaign with a High Jewelry necklace around his neck. Broadcast until 1987, the campaign made Wladimir the cat a permanent member of the Boucheron family and a prominent figure in the imagination of its admirers.
Boucheron creations featuring Wladimir
In 2019, his elegant nonchalance and sweet little face inspired Claire Choisne to create a collection in his likeness. Since then, Wladimir creations have continued to pay tribute to this integral member of the Maison Boucheron. The artisans' expert hands bring Wladimir to life. His eyes light up thanks to the layering of several precious stones. The movement of his coat is recreated, finely sculpted in gold. Finally, in a nod to the 1978 campaign, Wladimir is always adorned with a precious stone necklace.
The origins of the Maison Boucheron lie with its founder, Frédéric. A visionary who approaches jewelry like no other jeweler before him.
For many years, the Maison was run by men, but today it's a female-led business.
Boucheron boutiques are more than just places to purchase jewelry creations. They are designed to make customers feel at home.
